2024 Election Updates

Early voting begins Thursday, October 3 at two downtown locations: the Board of Election Offices (69 W Washington, 6th floor) and the Super Site (191 N Clark). Early voting expands to 50+ locations across the city on Monday, October 21.
Sample ballots will be available soon at chicagoelections.gov/voting/your-voter-information.
Chicago voters will have two ballots. The first one will be two-sided. The last item on that ballot will be the Chicago Board of Education members. The second ballot will include retention of judges and referenda. There are three statewide referenda (or “advisory questions”).
Statewide Advisory Questions
1) The Election Worker Protection Referendum (Yes/No)
“Should any candidate appearing on the Illinois ballot for federal, State, or local office be subject to civil penalties if the candidate interferes or attempts to interfere with an election worker's official duties?”
2) The Property Tax Relief and Fairness Referendum (Yes/No)
“Should the Illinois Constitution be amended to create an additional 3% tax on income greater than $1,000,000 for the purpose of dedicating funds raised to property tax relief?”
3) The Assisted Reproductive Health Referendum (Yes/No)
“Should all medically appropriate assisted reproductive treatments, including, but not limited to, in vitro fertilization, be covered by any health insurance plan in Illinois that provides coverage for pregnancy benefits, without limitation on the number of treatments?”
